Kinnara
In the mythology of the Indian subcontinent, kinnaras are celestial beings who serve Kubera, the god of wealth and live in his realm on Mount Kailasha. They have the form of a man and the head of a horse and are gifted musicians who sing and play to entertain Kubera. It is believed that they sprang from the toe of the god Brahma, though some say they are the sons of the rishi Kashyapa. They are also called ashwa-mukhas and turang-vaktras (‘horse-faced’).
