English Fairy Tales - Joseph Jacobs

The Princess and the Goblin - George Macdonald

The Goblin Market - Christina Rossetti. This may be out of print.

The Hamish Hamilton Book of Goblins - ed. Alan Garner.

A Midsummer's Night Dream - William Shakespeare. This would be difficult to read in the original for young children. However, a good introduction to Shakespeare could be provided through Tales from Shakespeare by Charles and Mary Lamb

The Hobbit
The Lord of the Rings - J.R.R. Tolkien

The Brownies - Juliana Horatia Ewing. This may be out of print and therefore not easily available.

The Brownies in the Toy Shop - Palmer Cox. This may be out of print and therefore not easily available.

The Leprecaun or Fairy Shoemaker - William Allingham This poem is included in the collection The Irish Fairy Book by Alfred Perceval Graves.
